Image reflecting God of life.

God of Life

Posted on March 7, 2026April 25, 2026 by Doug Bayliss

Before I was born, you knew me.

You gazed on me with love and rocked me in the arms of hope.

Your wisdom saw beyond my present.

Your faith in me beheld my beauty.

You saw my greater truth and brought into being Creation, as you knew it.

What mattered most was your belief in me.

Image and likeness would endure the test of brokenness and time.

Believing and trusting does such things.

So today and every day, I make my Act of Faith in you.

For long ago, with whispered breath, You loved me to life.

-Anonymous.

I recently found this note tucked inside the pages of my childhood Bible. Don’t know who put it there. Don’t know exactly when, but it must have been in the mid-1960s when I was going to Rockaway Reformed Church in White House, New Jersey.
